The Uplock system is very easy to fit to your bike. This is how it works: First determine the diameter of the seat post. Is it 27.2 millimetres (usually on sportier bikes such as gravel bikes or racing bikes, also on many touring bikes), 30.9 mm or 31.6 mm (on almost all e-bikes)? Fits!

Then order the appropriate Uplock in our store. As soon as you have it in your hands, measure the seat height on your bike (from the middle of the bottom bracket to the top of the saddle), remove the old seat post, remove the saddle and attach it to the Uplock seat post. Insert the new seat post into the seat tube, set the usual seat height, insert the Uplock folding lock, close it, put the Uplock key on your key ring and you're ready to go.

It is even more secure than many other folding locks! The Uplock lock is made from a through-hardened special too steel with a thickness of five millimetres, which withstood a load of up to 75 kN in extensive tests. A great value for a folding lock weighing just 875 grams: it cannot be cut with standard bolt cutters. The rivet connections are also specially hardened and can withstand the usual nut splitters. In terms of break-in security, the Uplock lock meets the standard of a high-quality folding lock for around 100 euros. When unfolded, the Uplock is a full 93 cm long - long enough to lock the bike to a lamp post or similar.

On the contrary! You have to consider the total weight - seatpost, lock and mount. The 27.2 mm/ 450 mm version of the Uplock weighs 1,375 grams in total - i.e. the seat post, the folding saddle head and the folding lock. A comparably secure 90 cm folding lock with bracket and 27.2 mm aluminum post in 450 mm length weighs approx. 1775 grams. The Uplock system therefore weighs around 400 grams less!

Thanks to its innovative folding kinematics, the Uplock lock can be folded up again effortlessly and stored safely in the seat post - where it is not only invisible, but also protected from the effects of the weather. The integrated magnets hold the lock together and, together with silicone rings in the seat post, prevent rattling noises while riding. Last but not least: Uplock is sustainable, all materials are designed for a long service life and are recyclable. If you ever lose both keys supplied, you don't have to throw the lock away: You can obtain a replacement key using the registered key number.
